Why Toastmasters?
Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Headquartered in Englewood, Colo., the organization’s membership exceeds 364,000 in more than 16,200 clubs in 145 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders.
Communication skills are a huge part of how Toastmasters helps professionals, but they go hand-in-hand with leadership skills. Since 2011, Toastmasters has emphasized leadership and developed the tagline, “Where leaders are made.”
Toastmasters is known for its well-organized and engaging meetings. They get that way through strong leadership. Members sharpen and practice leadership skills by running engaging meetings and special events.
Hiring decision-makers consistently list communication as the No. 1 skill they seek in new hires. The candidates who get jobs and get promoted are confident and are the best communicators. Toastmasters members have endless opportunities to polish this skill that is so crucial for career advancement.
Toastmasters provides a fun yet the constructive way to network with others who may become your career contacts. In Toastmasters, our circles of connections do not just confine to the members within our club. Once you’ve become a Toastmaster you can join club meetings and activities organised by members from all around the world.

FAQs
There’s a first time for everything. To overcome the fear of public speaking, you have to step out of your comfort zone and start speaking. Joining Toastmasters is a good way to manage your stage fright.
In addition to the supportive learning environment in the club, there is a structured education program called Pathways.
What is the Pathways learning experience?
Pathways is Toastmasters’ exciting, interactive, and flexible education program open in new. It focuses on five core competencies: Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Strategic Leadership, Management, and Confidence. With 11 paths to choose from (and more in development), you have the option to pick which skills you want to focus on.
Sign into Pathways and take the online assessment, which will suggest a learning path based on your goals. As a Toastmasters member, you will receive one free path when you join. Progress through your path by completing projects, giving presentations at club meetings, and implementing feedback, all done at your own pace. Each path has five levels and you’ll start by mastering fundamentals before working your way up to demonstrating your expertise. Best of all, Pathways is available online or in print and is translated into eight languages!
